Thursday, September 22, 2005 The Aftermath
Twenty nine. I'm shocked, and I'm pretty sure Mum is shocked. Another birthday has come and gone, my second in London. I had a blast on Saturday at my drinks - excellent turnout, after my worries about no-one coming, there was about 25 or so at its peak. Maybe they were all enthralled with my invite.
Yesterday I got my presents - tickets to Rome [Oct 2nd], a book on graphitti and a barrel of chocolates [2.2kg of Favourites - no complaints there] - all this from The Girl. Kids from home [bless them!], packed an Aussie Post box full of Tim Tams [is there really that many flavours!], Haighs Scorched Almonds and some coffee from the place we used to go during work. And a card with a guy with a mullet - an obvious hint. Phone calls came thick and fast in the morning from all corners of London and Adelaide - screams of Happy Birthday, thinking that being that loud will make sure I hear it being so far away.
A loss in basketball didn't hamper anything [14 points still!], and then the long journey on the tube back for a lovely take away meal and a few of those chocolates. Another present awaited -- Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels DVD - excellent.
All in all, it was a blast, love to all of you who thought of me, came to my drinks, sent me emails, smses and presents. It's nice.

Thursday, September 08, 2005 What would you do?
Awaiting verification on a £535 Tax Return. Stoked. Usually, when not 10,000 miles away, I'd treat myself - it is "unexpected income". And you reckon this would look nice in the bedroom as a second TV...
